Turn up the heat

I wasn't first in line when they were giving out long luscious lashes so for many years I have used eyelash curlers, you know the silver ones which you just squeeze onto your lashes as hard as you can only to find that the curl faded after a few hours.

Well a few years ago I was in my local beauticians and they had a strange silver contraption which caught my eye rather like a magpie to something shiny. It was the Carmen C8EYE model. There are two AAA batteries in there to heat the top section. It was quite expensive as eyelash curlers go at around £25 but it has lasted me ever since!

Being the sucker for a new beauty gadget that I am plus the fact that it promised to leave my lashes curled all day - I was sold.

Ladies, I have never looked back. If you have ever used normal eyelash curlers and got the hang of those, you'll find these really simple, just switch it on, let it heat for a few seconds then put your lashes onto the heated rim, curl and hold for 10-20 seconds and voila! - curled lashes to give Cheryl Cole a run for her money.

By the way - You should always use mascara afterwards and never before unless you want a nice big gooey mess on your curlers.

I'm so surprised that more people aren't using them. I get them out when I'm doing make-up lessons or make-overs and people are quite afraid of them at first! I guess the fact that they are heated scares people but you really can't feel that once you get the lashes in there.

I much prefer the shape of these curlers as the only other heated curlers I had seen before looked like wands and I'd always wondered how on earth you used them! I use these babies everytime I use mascara now but you may only want to save them for special occasions. I can 100% say that they really work and noticed you can pick them up in Boot's as well as Amazon these days so go on - give them a try!
