The miracle in a tube - Garnier B.B. Cream Miracle Skin Perfector

B.B has arrived!

If you haven’t heard of B.B creams yet then you will very soon. They are quite literally taking the world by storm!

What are B.B. creams?
A skincare sensation that has swept Asia…..B.B. creams (short for Blemish Balm) are hybrid products which combine the benefits of skincare and make-up in one. Initially developed by a German dermatologist in the 1950s, to soothe skin and provide coverage, B.B. Creams were made famous in South Korea by an actress famed for her beautiful skin. Over the following years, they became a cult must-have product across Asia due to their sheer, flawless finish and their “all-in-one” qualities.

Over the summer all the well known brands are bringing out their B.B. creams. They range from £10 - £50(!) and have a list as long as my arm of benefits.

I decided to try the cheaper end of the scale first with – Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector. A very bold name.

What is Miracle Skin Perfector?
  • Light texture that instantly melts into your skin
  • The formula with mineral pigments gives an instantly ‘perfect’ skin. The result? Sheer coverage; imperfections look blurred, lines softened. Your skin looks luminous, smoother and more even.
  • 24hr hydration. Skin feels more supple, smoother, softer.
  • UV protection: SPF15 to help protect the skin.
My first thoughts were – it looks a lot like some tinted moisturisers we have all been using for years and the tube is actually fairly small.

I was impressed when I applied it. The coverage is great and I really can just use it on its own with no other make-up. I opted for the medium shade which I think in the winter when my tan fades, is going to be too dark but for now is just right. A little does go a long way and it does leave my skin moisturised and looking good all day although I would still use a normal moisturiser at night.

It also was a great primer on the occasions that I added makeup over the top, it lasted better and the colours looked better. It leaves a dewey finish on the skin and seems to reflect the light a lot more. (I found I didn’t need as much touchĂ© eclait either!). This may not be the one for you if you have more in the sebum department than most.

Am I going to use this everyday – YES. Would I recommend this to others – YES.

For me it’s a big hit as I don’t wear foundation so I’ve replaced my normal tinted moisturiser with something that is benefiting my skin more and it works wonders. If you are a foundation lover then you are probably able to achieve the same affect with a good one but give this a go and you may be able to leave the foundation behind forever!

I’m very keen to try a more expensive B.B. cream next so let me know if you have and tell me what you thought.

  1. I will have to try this out as I hate packing my face full of Foundation and knowing it doesn't benefit my skin. I have tried numerous Foundations from £5 to £15 and I do adore No.7, Mac and Benefit. I tend to go for sheer coverage with a UV Factor and have found that recebtly Max Factor have created a Foundation for wrinkles. Woohooooo!!
